Chiller Refrigeration Cycle

chiller refrigeration cycle

    refrigeration cycle
  • Thermodynamic heat pump cycles or refrigeration cycles are the models for heat pumps and refrigerators.

  • The complete circulation of refrigerant through an air conditioning system as it changes temperature and pressure, i.e., changes its state from vapor to liquid, then back to vapor.

  • The complete cycle of stages (evaporation and condensation) of refrigeration or of the refrigerant.

    chiller
  • A machine for cooling something, esp. a cold cabinet or refrigerator for keeping stored food a few degrees above freezing

  • A chiller is a machine that removes heat from a liquid via a vapor-compression or absorption refrigeration cycle. This liquid can then be circulated through a heat exchanger to cool air or equipment as required.

  • Chiller is a 24-hour American cable and satellite television network specializing in horror and suspense programming. Chiller's new tagline is "scary good". It is part of the entertainment conglomerate NBC Universal.

  • hair-raiser: excitation that makes your hair stand up or that chills your bones; "the movie was an old-fashioned hair-raiser"

Work has been piling up in our office for some time, but today marked the first time I really had to bring work home to do. Today's menu: pipe sizing of the Chemistry West plumbing plan. I've never done laboratory piping before, so it was a good adventure and learning experience. As you can see, I had to bring back some reference material to get through it.

Also pictured in that bright shiny gold print is my new ASHRAE Refrigeration 2010 design manual. As an ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers) member, I get a new design manual every year. There are 4 design manuals in total, so their 4 year update cycle is awesome. Next year, 2011 Fundamentals I think.

I printed out a copy of an application form for ASPE (American Society of Plumbing Engineers) so I can get my hands on their technical manuals as well.

I'm finding more and more how true it is when they say that your learning is just beginning when you graduate University. Memberships into technical societies and gathering information as you work is all part of the job, and I can't say it enough --

I am damn lucky to work at KFR. The best mentors, the best production staff, a wealth of experience, and a casual and laid back (and always entertaining) working atmosphere. I can't believe my luck, but then again, my entire educational/professional career has been quite good to me.

Chalk that up to good Karma.
